Jeff Bridges, star of “TRON: Ares,” shared that the de-aged version of his character in “TRON: Legacy” bore a closer resemblance to Bill Maher than to himself. In a recent interview with Film Comment, Bridges discussed his experience returning to The Grid. Despite the advances in de-aging technology, the effects in “TRON: Legacy” fell short of expectations for some. Bridges expressed that the experience has stayed with him, recognizing the support “TRON” fans have shown for “TRON: Legacy” over the years.

“In Tron Legacy, we had to apply numerous facial dots and other enhancements. Though it may be outdated now, I had to envision myself as a younger version of my character, digitally. I believe they were attempting to de-age me, but I disliked the outcome. I resembled Bill Maher more than myself, which was unsettling.”
