While vibrant comic book adaptations offer their own charm, director Alex Proyas opted for a darker aesthetic in his 1994 adaptation of James O’Barr’s “The Crow.” This approach aligns with the film’s somber tone.

The recently released 4K Ultra HD edition of the film showcases its visuals in stunning detail. An accompanying featurette delves into the filmmaking team’s decision-making behind the film’s moody atmosphere, offering insights into their motivations. Catch the featurette above before “The Crow” arrives on 4K Ultra HD on May 7th.

Originally released on May 13, 1994, *The Crow* captivated audiences and critics with its visually stunning gothic aesthetic, thrilling action sequences, and Brandon Lee’s compelling performance. As a sleeper box office hit, the film cultivated a devoted cult following, leading to sequels, a television series, video games, merchandise, and literary adaptations. Inspired by James O’Barr’s eponymous comic book saga, *The Crow* emerged as an action-packed thriller that showcases mesmerizing style and captivating visuals.

Newly remastered, “The Crow” is available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc with bonus content and a Digital copy. A limited-edition SteelBook offers an exclusive 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc and Digital copy, along with a unique o-sleeve featuring a removable crow cutout revealing a portrait of Brandon Lee with his guitar.

The releases feature a three-part documentary, “Shadows & Pain: Designing The Crow,” created for the film’s 30th anniversary. Production designer Alex McDowell delves into the design of the 1994 classic, sharing his experiences working with Alex Proyas and the late Brandon Lee. Additionally, for the first time on disc, the releases include a conversation with Hollywood legend Edward R. Pressman, who discusses his career.
